It is vital to screen women for the suitability to take part in a Hydrobumps course. This is to ensure the safety of yourself, your baby and other mums in the class. Even after your initial screening, you must inform the instructor of any changes to the progress and health of your pregnancy. In some cases participation of classes may still be possible with written consent from your midwife or GP, this will be discussed with you if it applies to you.
If any of the following apply to you please contact your GP and/or Midwife to discuss this before you book as you may not be able to participate in Hydrobumps courses:
- Cardiac Disease
- Restrictive Lung Disease
- Persistent Bleeding in the 2nd and 3rd Trimester
- Preeclampsia or Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension
- Previous Preterm Labour
- Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR)
- Cervical Cerclage
- Placenta Prevails After 26 Weeks
- Preterm Prelabour Rupture of Membranes (PPROM)
- Smoking During Pregnancy
- Multiple Pregnancies
- Thyroid Disorder
- Raised BMI >40
- Diabetes or Gestational Diabetes
- History of Seizures or Epilepsy
- Anaemia
- Orthopaedic Limitations
- Malnutrition or Eating Disorders
