HydroBumps

The birth of Hydrobumps

By December 7, 2018 No Comments

The Hydrobumps journey all started with a passion for women leading healthy pregnancies. There have been a lot of misconceptions about exercising during pregnancy and what types of exercises are safe for women and their babies, and part of the Hydrobumps mission is to dispel this myth that you shouldn’t exercise while pregnant.

As a midwife I believe women should have choices in all things relating to their bodies, pregnancy and babies, and so many women over the years have asked about aqua-natal classes. In Liverpool there was no option for this service for women and so I was motivated to give women this choice.

I completed training accredited by the Royal College of Midwives and set about knocking on the doors of all the pool providers in Liverpool. Eventually I met with a fantastic lady from Liverpool City Council Lifestyles who had actually taken aqua-natal classes during her pregnancies and shared my enthusiasm for the benefits of water in pregnancy and a fantastic partnership developed.

I am now running classes in the Lifestyles pools and excited to have the support of Liverpool City Council to provide healthy pregnancy options for women.
